For budget travellers, Khao San Road is still a mecca for market stalls, nightclubs and bars, budget accommodation, massage parlours and much more. Even if you're not staying in one of the many budget guesthouses on the strip, a visit here will certainly open your eyes to the carefree and exciting nature of the city. On the other side of the coin is Sukhumvit Road; complete with high-rise apartments, extensive shopping centres and high-quality restaurants and entertainment venues. 

 Getting around the city is easy using conventional taxis, the new Skytrain or the infamous tuk-tuks. The latter of these is the most exciting way to see the city and you will receive no lack of offers from the enthusiastic and often pushy drivers. Driving around the city at breakneck speed, you will be taken to all manner of palaces, temples, statues and cultural landmarks in no time at all.

For nights out, there is an abundance of nightclubs and bars available all over the city providing all manner of entertainment. You never really know what you're going to get setting foot into a Bangkok bar, with all types of go-go bars, strip joints and cabaret shows on offer. Many of the best night time experiences are found around Patpong Night Market; certainly an interesting experience.
